20240423T1700 20240423T1830 America/Sao_Paulo Round Table - Strategies for the Internationalization of Research and the social impact of internationalization

This session presents a strategy with a multifactorial approach that is being developed between universities in the Province of Quebec, Canada, and the State of Pernambuco, Brazil, to promote sustainable and efficient initiatives for the internationalization of research. Through the Matchmaking methodology, regional and institutional research priorities are identified, converging research objectives and agendas are delineated and the resources that can be mobilized by these universities for the development of joint collaborative research projects are integrated. The efforts of governments and international organizations are also articulated to promote and manage the process with a view to the social impact of internationalization. In addition, a training program is offered to develop research visibility and communication capacities, especially in institutions with less international research presence. Finally, the experience is systematized (achievements, challenges, results) to incorporate good practices into the internationalization strategy of the participating universities. This session aims to present the matchmaking methodology developed and present the case of the participating universities, presenting the methodology results.
